Receipts grew at a faster rate than the number of black-owned businesses in Missouri, with an 82.3 percent gain in sales to $2.4 billion in 2007 from $1.3 billion in 2002. The number of firms rose to 24,697 in 2007, a 47.4 percent gain from 16,750 in 2002.
