One of the interesting things about “scare words” is that they’re scary because no one really listens to them.
The biggest scare tactic being used by opponents of the Democratic health insurance reform plan is that it would lead to “government-run health care.”
The irony became obvious when the Republican Party listened to some focus groups and decided to oppose the plan because it might cut Medicare spending.
My point is that the best loved parts of the health care system are government-run. That includes Medicare, Veterans Administration and Department of Defense hospitals.
If you have a serious injury, you likely go to a county or university trauma center.
All government run.
Hopefully, the President can break through the schizophrenia during his speech to Congress on health care.
